Top 5 healthy foods
Most of us want to eat better. We all pretty well know the connection between good food and good health.
But, what exactly should we be eating? It’s a question we’ve all asked ourselves and luckily, we have some answers. Below are five foods that many of us are probably NOT currently including in our regular diet that promote good health.
WARNING: YES, the list contains broccoli!
- Salmon – It’s the Omega 3 fatty acid content that puts your health in the pink with this one. Benefits include improved cognitive function and reduced inflammation.
- Blueberries – A “super food” due to their long list of vitamins and minerals and their hard-working antioxidants. They can boost your immune system and reduce your risk for age-related diseases.
- Apples – One a day keeps the doctor away, right? RIGHT! Besides being loaded with vitamin C, apples are a good source of pectin that can lower glucose and cholesterol levels in your blood.
- Tomato Juice – a great way to “sneak” vegetables into your diet and it can reduce your risk of heart attack and prostate cancer.
- Yep…we warned you, it’s here: Broccoli. – Some people love it, others hate it, but the fact is broccoli is one heck of a healthy food. Loaded with vitamins and what’s known as folate, it’s a good way to keep your eyesight in top form as well as hosting many other benefits.
